MOQ for Custom Die-Cut Adhesive Tape: How It Works for Vietnam Buyers

How MOQ for custom die-cut adhesive tape is set for Vietnam plants: material lots, tooling, FOB Shenzhen, Cat Lai and Hai Phong, and the five points we review.

A die-cut tape order for a Vietnamese plant carries three quantity numbers at once — the prototype run, the monthly release quantity and the material lot we purchase in Shenzhen — and the MOQ for custom die-cut adhesive tape that a buyer is quoted is the second one, set against the first and third rather than from a standing list. The friction for a buyer in Bac Ninh or Binh Duong is not the term itself but the distance between the three numbers: consumption is scheduled weekly on your line, while our cutting window is scheduled against an imported coat lot and a plate that has to be cut. This page is how we close that gap, and what we need from you first.

Where the quantity is decided for a Vietnam order

Three things move the MOQ for a Vietnamese assembly plant specifically. First, the construction: acrylic foam and specialty liner grades usually arrive through distribution, so a part on a material we slit and laminate routinely is a different conversation from the same part on a branded film bought for that job. Second, the packing unit your line consumes: parts on a slit liner indexed to a feeder, sheets nested on a plate, or loose through-cut pads each need a different stroke. Third, the delivery rhythm you are buying against, since a monthly release from an open material lot is cheaper to cover for us and easier to plan for you than the same annual volume cut ad hoc.

Nothing in that list is a tariff question. Freight matters to the date and the delivered cost, not to the quantity, and we keep the two discussions separate on purpose.

Ports, clusters and the transit figures we publish

Shipments leave Shenzhen by sea, air and express, and smaller orders can be consolidated as LCL. The Vietnam market page states sea freight from Shenzhen to Cat Lai or Hai Phong at typically 5–9 days port to port, with express at 2–5 working days door to door; your order's actual date is set at quotation against the destination port, because the figure on that page is a transit range and not a delivery promise. Cai Mep appears on southern routings, and the industrial destinations we ship to most often are Hanoi, Bac Ninh, Bac Giang and Hai Phong in the north, and Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong and Dong Nai in the south.

On terms: EXW, FOB Shenzhen, CIF or DDP by agreement, with FOB Shenzhen the default and CIF or door delivery arranged against your address. Who acts as importer of record has to be settled before a delivered price can be quoted, and no freight or insurance figure is stated before the shipment plan is known.

The five points we review before naming a release quantity

  1. Material availability and lot logic for the exact construction on your drawing, including whether the grade is held here or imported for the job.
  2. Tooling and route — flat-bed plate, rotary cylinder, laser or CNC path — with the ownership and re-cut terms written before anything is made; the routes are described on the die-cutting page.
  3. Nesting and matrix behaviour at your pitch, since scrap allowance is a quantity input and not a footnote.
  4. Release cadence and forecast horizon, meaning how often parts leave here and how far ahead your plan is stable.
  5. Packing and label format for the receiving site, including carton count, liner format and the way each batch is identified on the box.

Prototype quantities available; production quantities agreed per part. Where a held buffer or consignment stock is proposed, ownership, validity and a review date are settled before the first cut rather than after the first missed release.

Delivery and document flow

Drawings are acknowledged in writing before tooling is cut, with the revision number recorded so the first-article report measures the right version. A production order then runs: material checked against the lot on hand, cutting scheduled, first-article dimensional and visual report issued, parts packed and labelled by batch, packing list issued, and the shipment booked on the term you selected. Documents follow the ordered grade rather than a catalogue — technical data sheet with test methods, safety data sheet, RoHS and REACH statements scoped to that material, the first-article report against your revision, and the batch record linking delivery to incoming lot, slit date, cut order and inspection. ISO 9001 is available as certificate and audit scope on request.

What to send us

  • The drawing with revision, controlling dimensions marked, and kiss or through cut stated
  • The construction or brand-grade reference you have qualified, plus whether alternates are acceptable
  • Consumption per release and the packing unit you receive it in
  • Receiving address and who acts as importer of record
  • Whether you want prototype parts first, or a first article from production tooling

The quickest start is a quotation request with those five items and the die-cut parts page open beside it; the MOQ then comes back as three numbers with the reason under each. Reply from Shenzhen by email at yantian0606@gmail.com or WhatsApp 8613554863137.

Commercial and process terms on this page are the questions a converter has to answer, not a standing offer. Order quantities, lead times, tooling charges, sample terms, freight and payment structures are confirmed at quotation against your drawing, your material and your destination, and only figures already published elsewhere on this site are stated as commitments.
