What this service is for

The pack is part of the part

A converted part is only usable if its pack lets it be used. Receiving has to verify it without opening boxes, a line has to issue it without counting pieces, and a shelf has to present it without somebody applying a sticker by hand. Those are three different packs, and they are designed here rather than chosen from a stock list at the end of a run.

Kitting is where the packaging decision stops being cosmetic. A kit in consumption order removes a counting step and a sorting step at the station, which is a labour saving the unit price of the part hides. The cost of getting it wrong is also paid at the station rather than in the factory, which is why presentation is agreed before production.

Capabilities

Roll shrink sealing

Individual rolls sealed so they reach a shelf or a line without handling damage.

Bagged and counted parts

Fixed counts per bag so a line issues a kit without counting at the station.

Kits and sets

Multi-part sets assembled in consumption order and labelled by station.

Bulk part packing

Loose parts packed in the quantity and box the process needs.

Printed bags and cartons

Your artwork and handling marks on the pack rather than a sticker applied to it.

Labelling and traceability

Part name, drawing revision, lot and quantity on every pack.

How the work is actually set up

What sits behind the service page, stated the same way as on the plant page, so a capacity claim can be checked in one place rather than in five.

Counting and bagging

Fixed counts per bag so a station issues a kit without counting at the bench.

Shrink sealing

Individual rolls sealed against handling damage, dust and moisture.

Kit assembly

Multi-part sets built in consumption order and labelled by station or by product.

Carton and label control

Artwork, barcode and handling marks checked before a run, so the label scans at the destination.

Palletising for export

Load building with the marking and protection the route and the destination require.

The specification items we settle before quoting

Specification itemHow it gets confirmed
Count per packPieces or metres per bag, per box and per pallet, fixed in writing on the order.
Labelling contentPart name, drawing revision, material, lot, quantity and the barcode your system reads.
Bag and box gradeThickness, sealing method and box strength chosen against the part and the route.
Kit definitionWhich parts, in what ratio, and whether a kit is per product or per shift.
Pallet patternBox size, layer pattern, height and strapping agreed against unloading at the destination.
Returnable or one-wayWhether the pack comes back, which changes everything about its specification.

Nothing in this table is a standing promise. It is the list we work through with you; the answers end up in the quotation and on the work order.

Process

Presentation

Agree how the pack is opened, counted and put away at the point of use.

Pack design

Choose bag, box, count and labelling against the part and the shipment.

Pilot pack

Pack a trial quantity and check protection, legibility and the count.

Production

Pack, label, palletise and ship with the documents for the order.

What to send with a request

Send what you already have. A partial list still gets a useful answer, and whatever is missing simply becomes the question we ask back.

  • How the pack is opened at the point of use and by whom
  • The quantity one product or one shift consumes
  • What your system must read: barcode type, label position and content
  • Whether parts are loose, on a liner or on a spool
  • The destination, the route and whether the pack is returnable
  • Any complaint about the current pack, in the words the line used

How the result is inspected and released

Count audit

Sampled counts checked during packing, so a printed number on a bag means something.

Label verification

Barcode readability and label content checked against your specification before shipment.

Pack condition

Seal integrity, box condition and pallet marking inspected before the container is loaded.

Packing and shipment

  • This section is the service itself: roll, bag, box, kit and pallet, each specified on the order rather than defaulted.
  • Timber packing for routes that require it is heat-treated or fumigated and marked to ISPM 15.
  • Documents travel with the pack: packing list by kit, commercial invoice and the material records for the grades supplied.

Freight term, routing and destination charges are stated on the quotation. The logistics notes and the technical guides explain how each of those lines is worked out.

Questions buyers ask about Packaging & Kitting

Can you pack to a fixed count per bag?
Yes, and it is usually the difference between a line that issues a kit and a line that counts parts. The count, the bag and the label are agreed with the point of use.
Can a kit mix different materials?
Yes. A kit can hold different tapes, die-cut parts and hardware in the consumption order your station works in, with one label per kit.
Do you pack for retail as well as for a line?
Both. Retail-ready packs need artwork control, a barcode that scans and a pack that survives a shelf, so they get a proof and a pilot pack before a run.
How is a converted part protected in transit?
By the pack, not by luck: sealed against moisture for humid routes, sized so nothing shifts, and palletised with the export marking the destination requires.
Can a kit contain parts you do not make?
Yes, if they are supplied to us or specified. A kit can combine our converted parts with customer-supplied material or third-party components; what has to be settled first is whose quality record covers what.
Do you pack to a barcode standard?
We pack to the standard you state: symbology, size, position and content are specified on the order and verified before shipment. Without a stated standard a label is only a guess that usually works.
