IVD mid-separator tape for a test-strip project
A diagnostics manufacturer needed a mid-separator tape with stable thickness, clean die-cutting and compatibility with the assay.
We selected a medical-grade construction, produced a precision die-cut sample, and reviewed thickness and edge quality with the customer.
The sample passed the customer’s evaluation and moved to pilot production.

Easy-release, heat-reactive, low-VOC, medical IVD and laser-through glass tapes for demanding applications.

| Property | Why it matters in the device | How it gets checked | What it trades against |
|---|---|---|---|
| Thickness and tolerance | It helps set the fill volume and the flow path in the cassette | Measured on the construction as supplied, not on the adhesive alone | A thinner tape can change handling stiffness |
| Edge quality after the cut | Fibres and ragged edges seed bubbles and give a visual reject | Route chosen against the carrier, then examined under magnification | A cleaner edge can mean a slower or costlier cut |
| Assay compatibility | Adhesive and carrier can interfere with the reagent or the read | Compatibility testing on your reagent set, with the failure defined first | A compatible grade is often not the strongest bond |
| Aging over shelf life | The part has to behave at the end of the date as at the start | Aged samples under your storage condition rather than a fresh peel value | Aging stability narrows the candidate list quickly |
| Process exposure | Cleaning, curing or sterilization steps can move, discolor or deactivate an adhesive | The stated method and cycle applied to the actual construction | The grade that survives a process may not bond best |
