Exterior trim, low-VOC interior, masking and label tapes for automotive manufacturing.
Structural tape bonding for badges, mouldings, roof rails, wheel trim and sensor housings on a body that flexes, expands in the sun and gets washed.

An exterior part has to stay on through the temperature range, the car wash, the salt, the UV and the flexing of a body that is never quite still. The substrates are awkward on purpose: painted steel, powder-coated aluminium, moulded plastic and a clear coat that was formulated for appearance, not for adhesion. Drill holes are usually the alternative, and on a finished body they cost more than the tape does.
We confirm which surface the part goes onto, including the paint system and whether the panel is primed, painted or coated on the assembly line. The same tape on two different finishes can give two different results.
Aerodynamic parts, wide mouldings and trim on a compound curve put different demands on the bond line. Thickness, width and compliance are chosen for the shape and the load, and the gap the part has to bridge is measured rather than assumed.
Body and trim expand at different rates. A compliant acrylic carries that movement and spreads the stress; a rigid construction concentrates it at the ends, which is where lifting starts.
Where the part also has to keep water out, the bond line is the seal, and a dark or visible edge line is specified before the sample rather than discovered at the trial.
| Exterior component | Typical construction | Product family |
|---|---|---|
| Emblems, badges and lettering | Thin acrylic or PET double-sided tape, die-cut | Die-cut parts |
| Side mouldings and protection strips | Acrylic foam tape | Foam tape |
| Roof rails, racks and spoilers | High-performance acrylic foam tape | Foam tape |
| Wheel arch trim and cladding | Acrylic foam tape, dark construction | Foam tape |
| Sensors, cameras and antenna housings | PET double-sided tape or transfer tape | Double-sided tape |
Constructions are starting points. The final choice depends on the substrate, process, test standard and volume.

Exterior trim, low-VOC interior, masking and label tapes for automotive manufacturing.

Acrylic foam, PE foam and VHB-style tapes for exterior trim, panels, glazing and appliance bonding.

PET, non-woven, transfer and tissue tapes for electronics, automotive and appliance assembly.

Custom adhesive parts from drawing to ready-to-install: flat-bed, rotary, laser cutting and kitting.
A photo, the substrate and the test you need are enough for a first review.
